I started this blog to push myself to photograph while I lived around the St. Johns river. Most of the photography took place during walks on a familiar stretch of the St. Johns river in the mornings and evenings with Laya. The golden hour with its 2000 degrees kelvin light made me see mundane sights with a fresh eye. It opened my eyes to explore the banal. The river flowed slowly and changed its surroundings gradually; it trained me to capture subtle shifts in colors and moods. I no longer live by the river but its ethos is deeply imprinted in me.
